Aromatherapy and Spirituality
(1-4 hours)

This workshop is offered by invitation only

In Hebrew, the word for "scent" is "Reach," and the word for "spirit" is "Ruach." These grammatically-similar words obviously reflect the value placed on natural fragrances in ancient spiritual practices. In the Old Testament, the priests servicing the sanctuary were instructed to prepare exclusive blends of Frankincense, Myrrh and sweet spices to serve as the Holy anointing oils and Holy perfumes. Those fragrances were believed to connect the heavens and the earth...

Modern research has shown that the aromas of the ceremonial plants such as Frankincense and Sandalwood, can induce deep breathing, are profoundly soothing, and tend to generate feelings of grounding and connectedness. It is not surprising, therefore, that today the essential oils of these plants are universally used for meditation and relaxation.

This experiential workshop focuses on the various essential oils which have been traditionally used for ceremonial practices. These will include Aryuvedic, Biblical, native American and native Australian aromatic plant oils. You will also learn how to create a personal scented & sacred space in your home, adding a sense of renewal, inspiration and joy into your life.

This workshop is intended for individuals, holistic health practitioners and church groups who aspire to deepen their spiritual/meditative experiences and connection with the devine.

*1-4 Continuing Education (CEUs) offered to LMBTs. Credits for RNs pending.
